Without a hint of irony or shame, Nancy Pelosi blasts the Bush Junta:
“There isn’t an area of public policy that this administration has not failed in, and the country cannot take four more years of this,” she said Saturday in Denver, at a lunch sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor…
Pelosi neglected to mention the fact that the Democratic Party is as much to blame as the Bush Junta for this country’s problems. The Dems failed to act as an opposition party repeatedly, caving-in on some issues and sitting on its hands regarding others.
Forgive me if I’m skeptical about this new-found sense of combativeness Pelosi is claiming that the party espouses; until Karl Rove is finally arrested by the Senate Sergeant of Arms and brought before a few dozen Senate Committees to answer for his crimes, and until Pelosi puts impeachment back on the table in the House, I’m not buying more tough-guy talk from the Speaker or any other member of her party.
