Members of the Green Party protested outside of The Washington Post’s office Thursday, stating that the paper “routinely ignores or marginalizes the party’s candidates.”
A search for “green party” at the Post’s website yielded 300 results. Two of them (dated 07/31/2008 and 08/01/2008 ) were relevant. Both of those were different versions of the same story, about the protest; the rest simply mentioned the word “green” or the word “party” and had nothing to do with the Green Party.
A search for “cynthia mckinney” at the Post’s website yielded six hits. Five of them were about Cynthia McKinney, while the sixth pertained to the obituary of an unrelated Mr. McKinney.
But no, The Washington Post isn’t marginalizing the Greens as it has marginalized liberals for decades. Not at all.
Meanwhile, Cynthia McKinney is going to be listed on the presidential ballot in Arizona. Unfortunately, the Behavior Research Center’s latest Rocky Mountain Poll thinks the Green Party candidate is going to be Ralph Nader.
Yeah, it’s gonna be an up-hill climb, but that’s okay because I need the exercise. America needs it, too.
