— This shit is so far beyond old it’s decrepit.
— Steve Benen is becoming ridiculous:
…this flap reinforces why a prolonged Democratic primary process is bad for the party. We now have two dominant forces — the Republican machine and the Clinton machine — simultaneously arguing, vehemently and loudly, that the likely Democratic nominee is an elitist, out-of-touch liberal who doesn’t like working families and embraces un-American values… As Noam Scheiber put it, “Strange how the Clinton approach to strengthening the Democratic Party is remarkably similar to the GOP’s approach to strengthening the Democratic Party.”
Stranger still that Barack Obama’s negative campaign against Clinton started last summer and borrowed extensively from the right-wing’s “How to Hate Hillary” handbook, yet there has been neither hue nor cry over Clinton being double-teamed repeatedly, or the damage that might have been done to the party by extension, from fauxgressives.
And for the record, Obama IS an elitist, but I’m not so sure about his “liberal street cred.” Seems he and Hillary have very similar policies — although where they differ, her policies have the edge.
