Via Warren Ellis comes this story by Greg Palast, and via Media Matters comes another story; both articles indicate that the U.S. government and its Republican cronies in Louisiana and Mississippi are using a variety of methods to drive poor and middle-class blacks out of the two states.
I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that members of the poor and the middle class, as well as African Americans — most of whom serve as stalwarts of the Democratic Party — just happen to be targeted. It has nothing to do with trying to ensure that people who rightly hold the Bushites responsible for their current plight have a harder time punishing the GOP for Bush and Company’s sins in the 2008 election.
